BIG QUESTION: Who told you who you are?
Part of how we bear the image of God, all the way back in Genesis, is to receive our identities from God and to bear His image out together in community…like Adam and Eve in the garden, like Moses and Aaron in Exodus, like Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
We see the heavenly Father gathering those close to Jesus, orchestrating time and events, so that Jesus heard and felt and saw in their faces his identity being confirmed back to him by those he attached to and knew. But God was not done yet. Before Jesus had any noteworthy accomplishments under his belt, Yahweh Elohim wanted His precious boy to know exactly who he was.
“Who told you who you are?"
We are, after all, made to bear His image are we not? Are we not meant to attach ourselves to Christ like the branch to the vine?
